Our newest album, SINCERO, features improvisations on nine Gregorian chants, featuring renowned tenor Andrew Robert Bennett (of Soyez Gentille and Psalm 23 fame). It was wonderful to create fresh sounds with my ensemble (flutist Laura Halladay, and cellist Maksim Velichkin), using these classic sacred texts. Now more than ever, we need the sincere, spiritual essence of these ancient sounds to lift up and heal our world's pain.
SINCERO will be released on September 21, the International Day of Peace—but the Spiraling Music community can get it now! And I hope you will consider purchasing a copy today on iTunes or Amazon! If everyone on this mailing list gets a copy...we'll break into the Billboard Charts on Peace Day!
Give "Conditor Alme Siderum" a listen right now. If you are moved by the haunting harmonies, you are welcome to download a copy as my gift to you. Want to read along? The talented Andrew has prepared a download of all of the Latin texts here.
Join Us for Two L.A. Concerts
On September 9th, 2018, our ensemble will perform at 3pm at Nazareth House, 3333 Manning Avenue [here's the map]. We will perform the whole album, and the artists will be available for album signings. I hope you can join us for this exciting event! The album is dedicated to Nazareth House and the beautiful work they do as a senior living community.
Then on September 21st, 2018, at 11:30am, please join me at an Open House at the Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens at 3500 West Adams Blvd [here's that map]! Since it's the International Day of Peace, we will share a moment of silence at noon with the rest of the world. At 2pm I will perform a concert featuring my lifetime work in peace music in the Grand Entrance Hall with a lineup of brilliant performers. This will be an exciting interactive event, as many of my songs were written when I was composer in residence at Pathways to Peace. They are all uniquely interactive and multilingual, and will highlight the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. As a matter of fact, the theme of Peace Day this year is "The Right to Peace." The press release for this event is attached and also online if you would like to help spread the word.
